Job Title: Local Land Charges and Planning Technical Officer

Location: Rugby Borough Council

Pay Rate: £12.38 - £13.47 per hour

Work Mode: Hybrid (2 days in the office)

Working Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week

Assignment Duration: 3 months Temporary Ongoing

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Local Land Charges and Planning Technical Officer to join our team on a temporary ongoing basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in the processing and administration of Local Land Charges services, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and dispatch Local Land Charges Searches accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update the Local Land Charges Register and other relevant databases.
  • Coordinate with HM Land Registry for effective data transfer.
  • Liaise with internal departments, external solicitors, and personal search agents to facilitate information exchange.
  • Lead in the administration of planning and enforcement appeals.
  • Provide support to compliance officers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Handle enquiries from the public, external stakeholders, and other authorities.
  • Represent the Council at meetings and seminars as required.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a local government setting.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in database management and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations related to Local Land Charges and planning functions is desirable.
