This role will be an important role within the business, leading and advising on the "Developing Pillar" of the People Strategy, with the strategic objective to develop talent through lifelong learning opportunities to ensure the skills and capabilities for today, tomorrow and the future. A proactive approach to L&D across the Group that embraces the Groups Mission, Values and desired culture.


This role will work collaboratively with the Head of Culture & Policy and Head of People Experience, as an experienced thought leader and partner supporting and advising on comprehensive L&D strategies to deliver on all 4 strategic People Pillars within the People Strategy. This role will also champion all things L&D, to drive a culture of continuous learning, growth and development across the Group and fostering innovation, creativity, engagement and inclusion in their L&D practices.

L&D Business Partner - Duties:

  • Leading and coaching the L&D Advisor, aligning their focus and activities on L&D initiatives that support the achievement of the strategic People Plan.
  • Continuously develop and deliver the Leadership Development pathway, having programmes run on a rolling basis throughout the year, utilising different and blended learning and delivery techniques.
  • Adopt and adapt new learning technologies and methods and identify opportunities to enhance the learning experience for employees based on internal / external L&D trends e.g. AI etc.
  • Provide insights on leadership capability, supported by the 9-box framework, offering recommendations about capability and performance development and skills that are fit for the future of the Group.
  • Deploy and drive value for the business from enterprise-wide learning solutions that are cost effective and deliver ROI
  • Lead on the uptake of Apprenticeships, including T-Levels and "graduate programme" implementation across the group, whilst ensuring that we maximise ROI and utilisation of the Apprenticeship Levy funding.
  • Continuously schedule, and deliver where required, soft skills training throughout the year using delivery techniques that support a UK workforce wide approach.
  • Working with the Support functions to provide L&D solutions to people management matters, such as Dignity at Work, etc.
  • Empowered to develop the L&D function to effectively support the Groups business growth plans and ambitions.
  • Budget holder responsibility for Group L&D spend.

Requirements:

  • Solid, demonstrable experience with learning and development at BP level
  • Ability to liaise and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Knowledge of L&D trends and the evolving future of L&D
  • Experience in a sizeable organisation
